Outreach

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

(Acts 1:8)

It's very simple. We want to build God's Kingdom one heart at a time!

That's where the adventure begins as we work to match the God given gifts, talents and resources of our congregation with the needs of our community, our nation and our world. It's exciting and challenging to follow God's lead as we reach out to others with abilities and plans that fit naturally with who we are and what's happening in the world now.

Here at home – our Jerusalem

We help met the needs of our community with our Mercy Fund.  We know that life isn’t always fair, and that families struggle from time-to-time to meet the needs of their members.  These monies, given by our congregation during special offerings, are distributed to those who need help making ends meet, keeping the utilities on, or need help paying the expected bills life brings our way.

Our EWFMC Ministry teams work with and support local missions initiatives, like Flower City Work Camp for our teens.  And we strive to offer regular outreach events within our community.

We also combine our efforts with other local churches and organizations to promote the AngelFood Ministries, The Samaritan Way & CareNet Pregnancy Centers.  Each of these organizations endeavors to help those in crisis by providing basic needs & services at little or no cost.

Across the nation – our Judea and Samaria

Our outreach team regularly sponsors and coordinates short-term mission trips.

We recently sent two teams to Mississippi to assist with the continued clean-up and rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina.

And we helped to sponsor students from RIT on their return mission’s trip to Guyana.

And to the ends of the Earth…

As a church we support the work of our Free Methodist Missionaries serving around the world.

We annually create shoebox gifts and care packages for children in third world countries in cooperation with Operation Christmas Child, and monthly our children financially support a 15 year-old Nigerian girl, Ekgette Offong Akpana, through International Child Care Ministries.
